Hotfixes and Security Updates in Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows Vista SP2

Updated: April 28, 2009

Applies To: Windows Server 2008,Windows Vista

Windows Server® 2008 Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista® Service Pack 2 include all the previously released updates for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. Many of these updates are available to the public on the Microsoft® Download Center and Windows® Update, while others are only available to specific customers or partners. It is a standard practice to include all of these updates in a service pack, and they are included in Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

For a list of these updates with links to their descriptive pages on the Microsoft Web Support site, download the HotFix List for Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows Vista SP2 (Microsoft Excel spreadsheet).

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 problems: Display does not work      MukundKhisty ... Thomas Lee   |   Edit   |   Show History
Hello,

I istalled service pack 2 for Vista and since then my dispay is distorted.

I worked with microsoft technicians for more than 2 days and we installed, uninstalled, re-installed dispaly driver multiple times, for no positive results.

We also tried system restore to go back to SP1 with a little luck. The system cannot be restored back to its original state.

My display is very much distorted and its hard to work..... More importantly, I'm stuck and may have to rebuild the Laptop. (BTW, its Toshiba satellite).

Any help????

- Mukund

We are evaluating Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 with SP1 (Trial Edition) and also needed to test Internet Explorer 9 on the server. IE9 apparently requires Windows 2008 to be at SP2. Downloaded the correct X64 version (five language) and installation fails with the message:

"This service pack does not apply to the version of Windows running on the computer"

Are the trial editions not able to be upgraded to SP2?
