SHA Is Not Present
Updated: March 29, 2012
Applies To: Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2
In a Network Access Protection (NAP) deployment, this problem typically occurs when you start the NAP Agent service on a server computer.
If you start the NAP Agent service on a computer running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server® 2008, it will display an error event indicating that a system health agent (SHA) is not present. This is because the Windows System Health Agent (WSHA) is not installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008.
NAP client event ID 13: The Network Access Protection Agent failed to the peripheral component %1. The error code was %2. See the administrator for more information.
If this event occurs on a computer running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008, no action is required.
