Keep software up-to-date

Updated: July 22, 2009

Applies To: Windows SBS 2008, Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard

Software updates fix vulnerabilities in software, or they introduce additional security features. To help keep your Windows SBS 2008 network more secure, it is recommended that the software updates are installed as soon as they become available. Assure that the software updates are installed on the following:

  • The server that is running Windows SBS 2008 and any other servers on your network.

  • All client computers on your network.

  • All remote client computers that access your network by using Remote Web Workplace (RWW) or a virtual private network (VPN).
