This topic explains how to use the Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell to assign or remove a manager of an organizational unit (OU).
The following example demonstrates how to assign or remove a manager of an OU:
Set-ADOrganizationalunit 'OU=ManagedGroups,DC=Fabrikam,DC=com' -ManagedBy 'CN=SaraDavis,OU=ManagedGroups,DC=Fabrikam,DC=com'
To remove a manager of an OU, set the value of the ManagedBy attribute to –ManagedBy $null.
You can use the following parameters when you set many of the common values that are associated with the modification of an OU:
- Country
- City
- PostalCode
- State
- StreetAddress
- Description
- DisplayName
- ProtectedFromAccidentalDeletion
- ManagedBy
For a full explanation of the parameters that you can pass to Set-ADOrganizationalUnit, at the Active Directory module command prompt, type Get-Help Set-ADOrganizationalUnit -detailed, and then press ENTER.
