Archiving, CDR, and QoE Enhancements

Communications Server 2007 R2

Topic Last Modified: 2009-01-24

Office Communications Server 2007 R2 delivers enhanced out-of-the-box monitoring and reporting capabilities for new features and scenarios while simplifying the deployment and administration of monitoring components. Archiving, Call Detail Record (CDR), and Quality of Experience (QoE) enhancements for Office Communications Server 2007 R2 include:

  • CDR and archiving data for new scenarios and features, including dial-in conferencing, call delegation, team calling, and Response Group Service.
  • New CDR usage reports provide system usage details for conferencing, voice and video, and IM.
  • New QoE metrics for video quality, audio quality, PSTN connections, network connectivity, and trunk leg. These new QoE metrics provide better quality monitoring and diagnostics. QoE metrics are also collected for the new Conferencing Attendant, Response Group Service, and Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Attendant features.
  • QoE reports have been fully redesigned and enhanced with the new metrics, to give better views of the media quality on the network.
  • A new Office Communications Server role, the Monitoring Server, gathers both CDR and QoE data.
  • Scalability is improved, and both Archiving Server and Monitoring Server can support a greater number of users per server.
  • Now that CDR functionality has moved to Monitoring Server, Archiving Server performs only the archiving of instant messages for compliance purposes.
  • The new Group Chat feature includes its own Compliance service for the archiving of Group Chat content.
