Verify Prerequisites

Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 will reach end of support on January 9, 2018. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.

Before you begin upgrading your Enterprise Voice deployment, you will need to verify that your infrastructure meets the requirements for supporting Enterprise Voice. Most of these prerequisites have not changed for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, and so your existing deployment should be compatible with the new Mediation Servers. For details about these prerequisites, see Enterprise Voice Prerequisites in the Deploying Enterprise Voice documentation.

To verify Enterprise Voice prerequisites, do the following:

  • Verify that Exchange Server 2007 SP1 is installed and properly configured.

  • Verify that your existing location profiles are installed and properly configured.

  • Verify that Office Communications Server 2007 R2 is configured to work with Exchange Server Unified Messaging.

After you have verified that the prerequisites are met, you are ready to deploy Enterprise Voice.
