Adding a New Phone Setting

To add a Phone, use the following steps:

  1. In the Admin Console, expand the root node *<machineName>*in the left-hand tree pane.

  2. Expand the Settings Node.

  3. Click the Phones Node.

  4. Right-click in the blank area on the List View pane and click New, then Phone.

  5. The Add New Phone Wizard window will be displayed. On the welcome screen, click Next.

  6. The Add New Phone Wizard (Step 1 of 1) screen will appear as shown below where the administrator can enter the details of the new Phone. The Machine Name takes the current computer name where agent desktop is installed.

  7. Note

    For this step, use the actual hostname of the specific client computer. Do not use the Host name or Alias for the machine created on the Domain Controller.

  8. Each Machine Name must be unique. The Phone Number entered will be associated with this particular agent desktop installation. Phone numbers need not be unique.

  10. Add New Phone Wizard Screen 1

  11. Type the Machine Name and Phone Number (mandatory fields) and click Finish to add the new phone settings. You may also add a name to the Phone Number field so that both will show as in the figure below.

  13. The administrator can cancel the creation of a new Phone setting at any time by clicking Cancel.
