Troubleshooting DCS Uninstall

This section describes issues that you might encounter when you attempt to uninstall DCS.

ISSUE: DCS Business Extensions Uninstall Fails

If you have already uninstalled Microsoft Guidance Automation Extensions and Toolkit and you attempt to uninstall the DCS Business Extensions, the uninstall operation will fail.

To resolve this error

  1. Re-install Microsoft Guidance Automation Extensions and Toolkit.

  2. Insert the DCS installation media, right-click on the appropriate MSI, and then select repair.

  3. Note

    Note: This procedure is intended to aid in removal of the DCS product, and is not designed to restore a previous application state.

  4. Attempt to uninstall DCS Business Extensions.

ISSUE: Error 1001 While Uninstalling DCS

When you attempt to uninstall DCS from a 64-bit computer, you may receive an error message.

Error 1001 during 64-bit uninstall

If you click OK in response to this error message, all of the DCS binaries will be removed from your system.

To resolve this error

  1. Start a command prompt, and then change the directory to \\windows\System32.
  2. Type the command lodctr /R.
