Creating the CCFUsers User Group

Groups are objects in Active Directory of a domain that contain other users, contacts, computers, and other groups. CCF 2009 uses security groups that allow you to assign permissions and policies easily to all objects in the group.

You must create a user group in your <DomainName> domain with the name CCFUsers. You must then assign all Agents using the Agent Desktop, to this group. All users in the group will have access to the CCF 2009 Web Services.

To create the CCFUsers User Group:

  1. Create a new User Group, CCFUsers.

  2. Use the Active Directory Users and Computers tool as shown in steps 1 and 2 of the Creating the ASPUSER User Account.

  3. Expand the <CCFFQDN> and select the Users object in the tree view.

  4. On the tool bar, click the Create New Group icon (Two Person Icon Dd632553.258f53fd-87e0-4413-a523-fac202e578bb(en-us,TechNet.10).png).

  5. Enter the group name as CCFUsers and accept the defaults. Click OK.

  6. Add ASPUSER to the CCFUsers group:

    1. Use the Active Directory Users and Computers tool as before.
    2. Expand the <CCFFQDN> and select the Users object in the tree view.
    3. Double click the CCFUsers group from the list.
    4. In the properties window, click on the Members tab.
    5. Click Add
    6. Enter the username ASPUSER in the text box. Click Check Names.
    7. Select the correct user and click OK.
    8. On the Group Properties window, click OK.
  7. Use the same process to add ASPUSER to the IIS_WPG group. This is necessary for the proper operation of Web services.
