Creating a Rule for Mapping Multiple Custom Users

The CCFUsername is a parameter that is used internally; however an SI may not wish to create a special CCFUsername for each agent.

The CCF Mapping tool provides a way to specify a rule that will apply to each of the usernames on the spreadsheet. For example, you may have a list of 1500 usernames that use some sort of custom credentials. Creating a CCFUsername for them, one by one, would be very tedious. But you can apply a single rule to all user names at once, which maps the individual and custom credentials to individual CCF credentials.

To apply a rule for user names:

  1. Browse to the Excel file as in the example above and click Preview.

  2. Type a string into the Enter Rule textbox. This string will become part of the CCF username.

  3. Check the Apply Rule checkbox. This will build the CCF username for every user on the Excel list. They will take the form: <Rule>_CustomUsername. An example is shown below.

  4. Note

The Enter Rule textbox will only accept upper and lower case alphabetic characters – not spaces, special characters, nor numerals.

If you wish to change the rule, uncheck the Apply Rule checkbox, retype a new rule, and check the checkbox.
