Creating a New Workflow

To create a Workflow, use the following steps:

  1. In the Admin Console, expand the root node *<machineName>*in the left-hand tree pane.

  2. Click the Workflows Node.

  3. Right-click in the blank area on the List View pane and click New then Workflow. The Add New Workflow Wizard window will be displayed.

  4. Click Next.

  5. The Add New Workflow Wizard (Step 1 of 4) screen will be displayed as shown and the administrator can enter the general details of the new workflow**.** If you require all of the workflow steps to be completed, in order, each time, check Forced Workflow.

  7. Type the Name of the workflow (mandatory field) and click Next to continue. All other non-mandatory information regarding the Workflow can be filled in later from the Workflow Property page.

  8. The Add New Workflow Wizard (Step 2 of 4) screen will be displayed as shown below. The administrator can choose the applications (steps) that comprise this workflow.

  10. To associate steps, select one or more steps in the Available list box and click the > assignment button. You can make multiple selections by holding down the Ctrl key and selecting. Use the >> assignment button to move all the selections. The selected steps will be added to the Selected list box.

  11. Click Next.

  12. The Add New Workflow Wizard (Step 3 of 4) screen will be displayed as shown below. The administrator can choose the agents who would have permission to use this workflow.

  14. Select one or more agents in the Available list box and click the > assignment button. The selected agents will be added to the Selected list box.

  15. Click Next.

  16. The Add New Workflow Wizard (Step 4 of 4) screen will be displayed as shown below if AzMan is used as the store. The administrator can choose the groups to which this workflow is mapped.

  18. Click Finish to create a new workflow.

  19. The administrator can cancel the creation of a new workflow at any time by clicking Cancel.

  20. Note

    Permissions of the Agent override permission of the Group. That is, if an Agent is mapped to a workflow that mapping holds true even though the Group may not be mapped to the Workflow.

Alternatively, the last screen (Step 4 of 4) may appear as below if Active Directory and the CCF Database is used as the store.

The groups that are already mapped to the workflow (if any) are shown in the Groups Mapped section. If you wish to remove any of them, highlight the appropriate group, and click Remove.

If you wish to add a group, type any portion of the name and click Check Name and chose from the list of groups. Then click the Add button. You can also enter the name in the blank and click the Add button.
