Connection Manager is a versatile client dialer and VPN connection software that you can customize by using the Connection Manager Administration Kit (CMAK) wizard. The CMAK wizard lets you configure all of the settings your users need to connect to your network from a remote location by using either dial-up or virtual private network (VPN) connections. The wizard collects all of the settings into an executable that can be easily installed on the user’s computer providing an easy way for the user to initiate the connection without having to know phone numbers, VPN protocols, security methods, and so on.

CMAK is an optional feature on Windows Server® 2008 R2, Windows® 7, Windows Server® 2008, and Windows Server 2003.

The CMAK wizard and this documentation is designed for network administrators, information architects, and other team members responsible for the design, development, testing, distribution, and support of remote network connection software for the customers who connect to your Internet or network service.
