Note

The information in this article applies to both Microsoft Search Server 2008 and Microsoft Search Server 2008 Express.

Search Server 2008 has several levels of search administration:

  • Server administrator

  • Farm administrator

  • SSP administrator

  • Site collection administrator

  • Site administrator

You can download a poster, Permissions for common administrative operations, which provides information about operations and permissions for each of these administrative levels.
