Change the e-mail addresses for domain accounts and reports

Updated: April 21, 2009

Applies To: Windows SBS 2008

You must change the e-mail address of any domain administrator accounts that are used to send e-mail. For example, the SBSMonAcct user account is used to distribute reports through e-mail. For all of the reports that are configured on the Reports tab, you must ensure that e-mail is specified to be sent to Exchange Online, not to the local installation of Exchange Server.

To change the e-mail address of an account

  1. Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. In the console tree, expand your server, expand MyBusiness, expand Users, and then click SBSUsers.

  3. In the list pane, right-click SBSMonAcct, and then click Properties.

  4. On the General tab, change the e-mail address to an account on Exchange Online.

To change the e-mail address for a report

  1. In the Windows SBS Console, on the Reports tab, right-click a report, and then click View report properties.

  2. Click E-mail Options, and then clear all of the check boxes in the User accounts on the network list.

  3. Add the e-mail addresses from Microsoft Online Service where you want the reports to be sent to the Other e-mail addresses box.
