How to Import the Exchange Server 2007 Management Pack

After you import the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Management Pack, ensure that you complete the tasks in the following list to finish your initial configuration:

  1. Create a new management pack in which you store overrides and other customizations.

  2. If you are using low-privilege action accounts, populate the Exchange 2007 Run As Profiles (optional). See Populate the Run As Profiles for more information.

  3. Enable Exchange 2007 Server Role discoveries to discover Exchange 2007 servers and to start monitoring them. See Enable Exchange 2007 Server Role Discovery for more information.

  4. Configure disk monitoring. See Configure Disk Monitoring for more information.

  5. Configure Internet Information Services (IIS) Monitoring (optional). See Configuring IIS Monitoring for more information.

  6. You might want to assign Edge servers to a particular organization and site (optional). See Assigning Edge Servers to an Organization and Site for more information.

  7. Configure mail flow synthetic transactions (optional). See Configuring Mail Flow Synthetic Transactions for more information.

  8. If you want to enable the Client Access server synthetic transactions, you need to set up the test users on each Mailbox server (optional). See Configuring Exchange Servers to Support Client Access Synthetic Transactions for more information.

  9. Configure Client Access server synthetic transactions (optional). See Configuring Client Access Server Synthetic Transactions for more information.
