Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) provides remote access to many different applications. One of the main scenarios for using Forefront UAG is to provide remote access to Microsoft Exchange Server mail services. Using Forefront UAG to provide remote access to your Exchange services provides several advantages over an installation of Exchange that does not include Forefront UAG.

About this guide

This guide is intended for use by the system administrator who is responsible for publishing Exchange services for remote users. The system administrator should be familiar with Forefront UAG, publishing applications and trunks on Forefront UAG, and should have a good working knowledge of Exchange and Exchange deployment scenarios.

It is presumed that Exchange has been installed and configured according to the required topology.
