Activate a DHCP Scope

Updated: May 28, 2009

Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2

You can use this procedure to activate a DHCP scope using the DHCP Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

Membership in DHCP Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to perform this procedure.

  1. Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click DHCP. The DHCP MMC opens.

  2. In DHCP, double-click the server name. For example, if the DHCP server name is DHCP-01.example.com, double-click DHCP-01.example.com.

  3. Double-click IPv4, and click the scope that you want to activate. Right-click the scope that you want to activate, and then click Activate.
