Plan for testing IPv6 connectivity with Office 365
Applies to: Office 365 Enterprise
Topic Last Modified: 2013-08-23
Summary: Links to a test plan that helps you test IPv6 connectivity with Office 365 services.
You should perform some connectivity testing if you want to connect to Office 365 by using the Internet Protocol 6 (IPv6). You can use the test plan provided here to ensure that your network can connect to the following Office 365 services by using the IPv6 protocol:
Exchange Online (EXO)
SharePoint Online (SPO)
Lync Online (LYO)
Self-service password reset (SSPR)
Other Office 365 component services
Office 365 supports IPv6 as well as IPv4; however, not all Office 365 features are fully enabled by using IPv6. Because of this limitation, using IPv6 requires that your network equipment be capable of supporting and configured to support both IPv4 and IPv6. This includes network perimeter devices such as firewalls, proxies, and so on. The full list of IPv6 addresses that are supported by Office 365 can be found in the article Office 365 URLs and IP address ranges.
After your network is configured and the appropriate IPv6 addresses are allowed, you can download the Office 365 IPv6 test plan from the Microsoft Download Center.
