Upgrade a computer running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Server to Windows Server 2012

To upgrade an existing computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011 to Windows Server 2012, follow the instructions here.

  1. Take a backup of your server files and Microsoft Dynamics CRM organization databases before you to upgrade the computer running Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011 to Windows Server 2012. For more information, see Backing Up the Microsoft Dynamics CRM System.

  2. Upgrade the computer to Windows Server 2012. For more information, see Installing Windows Server 2012.

  3. If Microsoft SQL Server is installed on the same computer as Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011, enable and restart the SQL Server services on the computer. For more information, see Start, Stop, Pause, Resume, Restart the Database Engine, SQL Server Agent, or SQL Server Browser Service.

  4. Apply Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Update Rollup 13 or a later update rollup. For more information, see Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 updates and hotfixes.

  5. Enable and restart Windows Process Activation Service, and the World Wide Web Publishing Service.

  6. Run a Repair of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011. For more information, see Uninstall, change, or repair Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011.

  7. Run a Repair of Microsoft URL Rewrite Module 1.1 for IIS 7.0. To do this, in Control Panel select Programs and Features, in the list of installed programs, right-click Microsoft URL Rewrite Module 1.1 for IIS 7.0, and then click Repair.

Upgrade a computer running Microsoft Dynamics CRM Reporting Extensions to Windows Server 2012

To upgrade an existing computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM Reporting Extensions to Windows Server 2012, follow the instructions here.

  1. Upgrade the computer to Windows Server 2012. For more information, see Installing Windows Server 2012.

  2. Enable and restart the SQL Server services on the computer. For more information, see Start and Stop the Report Server Service.

  3. Apply Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Update Rollup 13 or a later update rollup. For more information, see Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 updates and hotfixes.

  4. Run a Repair of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Reporting Extensions. For more information, see Uninstall or repair Microsoft Dynamics CRM Reporting Extensions.

  3. Run a Repair of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 E-mail Router. For more information, see Uninstall, change, or repair E-mail Router.

Upgrade a computer running Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring Extensions to Windows Server 2012

To upgrade an existing computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring Extension to Windows Server 2012, follow the instructions here.

  1. Upgrade the computer to Windows Server 2012. For more information, see Installing Windows Server 2012.

  2. Uninstall Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring Extension. For more information, see Uninstall or repair Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring Extension.

  3. After the uninstall is complete, install Microsoft Dynamics CRM Report Authoring Extension using the version that includes Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Update Rollup 13 that is currently available on the Microsoft Download Center. Download the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Report Authoring Extension..
