Lync Online is a communications service that connects people in new ways, anytime, from virtually anywhere. Lync Online is an Office 365 for enterprises service offering that provides intuitive communications capabilities across presence, instant messaging, audio/video calling, and a rich online meeting experience that includes PC audio, video, content sharing, and voice. With Lync Online, you can transform your interactions with your colleagues, customers and partners to a more collaborative, engaging, and effective experience.

This service description is intended to help IT professionals by describing the features and capabilities that are included with Lync Online Dedicated subscription plans ("dedicated plans"). For a summary of plans and features, see Lync Online Dedicated Subscription Plans.

ImportantImportant:
Some Lync Online features enable your organization's administrators to collect and monitor data from Lync users. Your organization must agree to comply with all applicable laws, including privacy, and obtain any necessary consents from Lync users prior to using the Lync Online service and monitoring features.

Lync Online Dedicated plans are made available to organizations that have a dedicated Microsoft hosting environment, where each organization has their own dedicated data center hardware. The following table lists Lync Online Dedicated plans and describes their key features. Your organization can select the plan that best suits your needs.

Instant messaging, presence, presence integration with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Outlook, PC-to-PC audio/video communication, file transfers, remote access, Office Communicator for Mac 2011, Microsoft federation, business partner federation, IBM Sametime federation, Skype and Outlook.com federation, IM security, and user provisioning.
