On-premises data can be integrated in to your SharePoint Online tenancy through either an app for SharePoint or an external list. The procedure in this section shows you how to integrate the external data by using an app for SharePoint. After you complete this procedure, you can go to Validate the Business Connectivity Services hybrid scenario.
