Getting Started

The topics in Getting Started introduce you to System Center 2012. You can learn about what is new, view system and upgrade requirements, and get to know System Center 2012 R2.

To evaluate the components in System Center 2012 R2, you can download preconfigured virtual hard disks (VHDs) from which you can create virtual machines. Each virtual machine runs one of the components in System Center 2012 R2.

To create the virtual machines, you need a host server running Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2 with the Hyper-V feature installed. Each VHD has the software needed to create an individual virtual machine.
