Define Ribbon Controls

You can define several different types of controls to display using the ribbon. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online uses a version of the SharePoint 2010 Ribbon and they share many common schema elements.

Not all of the controls available in the schema for SharePoint make sense for Microsoft Dynamics CRM. After further evaluation of the controls, effective immediately, Microsoft Dynamics CRM does not support all the available controls. This topic describes the supported controls for use in the ribbon and the controls defined by the schema which Microsoft Dynamics CRM does not support.

Supported Ribbon Controls

The following controls are supported:

• <Button> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <CheckBox> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <FlyoutAnchor> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <Label> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <Spinner> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <SplitButton> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <ToggleButton> (RibbonDiffXml)

Unsupported Ribbon Controls

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 does not support the following controls:

• <ColorPicker> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <ComboBox> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <DropDown> (RibbonDiffXml)

  If you have used the DropDown control you should convert it to use the FlyoutAnchor control instead.

• <Gallery> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <GalleryButton> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <InsertTable> (RibbonDiffXml)

• <MRUSplitButton> (RibbonDiffXml)

  If you have used the MRUSplitButton control you should convert it to use the SplitButton control instead.

• <TextBox> (RibbonDiffXml)
