Change Window Calendars

There are three types of changes that could require downtime for subscribers to SharePoint Online Dedicated plans. The three types of changes are:

Please follow the instructions in each section to determine if your change will require downtime. Then consult the Change Window table appropriate to your organization to determine the available Production downtime change window.

Please refer to the Standard Configuration List or Service Administration Portal to determine:

  • If the change needs to be implemented during a Change Window.

  • If Engineering Analysis is required.

  • If PPE Validation is required.

  • PPE deployment timeline.

  • Production deployment timeline.

Please refer to the Custom Solution Policies and Process (FTC) to determine the following timelines:

  • Initial Code submission

  • Code review timeline

  • PPE deployment timeline

  • PPE customer approval timeline

  • Production deployment timeline

Please refer to the SharePoint Online Content Migration Policy to determine the following timelines:

  • Initial notification of the migration

  • Full backup delivery timeline

  • Differential backup delivery timeline

  • Production migration

The table below shows the Microsoft for 2014. Holidays are not considered business days and should not be included in timeframe estimates when scheduling changes.

The table below shows the Change Windows for all customer-initiated changes that require downtime. Customers are in Group A or Group B, and should use the appropriate column for their group. If in doubt about your group, consult your Microsoft service delivery manager (SDM).
