The Conferences report in Lync Online

Lync Server 2013

Topic Last Modified: 2014-09-05

The Conferences report shows the total number of conferences that your users organized. (In Lync Online, a conference is any communication session that involves 3 or more users.) As noted, the report only tracks conferences that were organized by one of your users. If a conference was organized by an external user that conference will not appear on this report, regardless of how many of your users might have participated in the conference.

The report, which also shows the number of conferences that employed a specific modality (such as IM or dial-in conferencing), looks like this:

Conferences Report

The Conferences report includes the following metrics:

Metric Description

Total

Total number of conferences held, regardless of modality.

IM

Total number of conferences that included instant messaging.

Audio/video

Total number of conferences that included audio and/or video.

Application sharing

Total number of conferences that included application sharing.

Web

Total number of conferences that included at least one Lync Web App user.

Dial-in

Total number of conferences that included at least one dial-in user.

When viewing this report keep in mind that any given conference can contain more than one modality. For example, suppose you have a conference that includes both IM and Audio/video, and a second conferences that used all five modalities:

If you add up all the modalities you get a total of 7. However, there were only 2 conferences: one that employed 2 modalities, and one that employed 5 modalities.
