The Peer-to-peer sessions report in Lync Online

Lync Server 2013

Topic Last Modified: 2014-09-05

The Peer-to-peer sessions report shows the total number of peer-to-peer sessions that took place in your organization. (In Lync Online, a peer-to-peer session is a communication session involving just two users.) The report also displays the number of peer-to-peer sessions that included modalities such as IM; video; application sharing; or file transfers. The report looks similar to this:

Peer-to-Peer Sessions Report

The Peer-to-peer sessions report includes the following metrics:

Metric Description

Total

Total number of peer-to-peer sessions (regardless of modality).

IM

Number of peer-to-peer sessions that included instant messaging.

Audio

Number of peer-to-peer sessions that included audio.

Video

Number of peer-to-peer sessions that included instant video.

Application sharing

Number of peer-to-peer sessions that included application sharing.

File transfer

Number of peer-to-peer sessions that included file transfers.

Note that the total number of sessions will typically be lower than the combined total of the different modalities; that’s because any given session might use more than one modality. For example, suppose a peer-to-peer session employs audio, video, and application sharing. That’s a total of three modalities, but, overall, it count as only one peer-to-peer session.
