How to add seats to your Exchange Online Protection transition offers

Exchange 2013

Applies to: Exchange Online Protection

Topic Last Modified: 2013-10-25

As part of the transition from Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (FOPE) to Exchange Online Protection (EOP) you will receive a subscription of EOP. The total number of seats that you receive will be based on how many seats you have purchased on your FOPE subscription. Your EOP subscription will end along with your existing FOPE agreement.

If you’re interested in purchasing additional seats after you’ve been transitioned to EOP, you must buy these additional seats on your existing FOPE agreement, not your new EOP subscription. Work with your partner or authorized Microsoft representative to purchase these additional seats on your FOPE agreement. Do not purchase additional seats on your new EOP subscription.

The purchase of additional seats of FOPE will not be reflected within the licensing section of the Office 365 admin center. Even though the number of seats within the Office 365 admin center will not be aligned with the total number of seats on your existing FOPE enrollment, EOP will continue to protect and filter all messages going through the service.
