Customers who Purchased FOPE but Provisioned Directly to EOP

Exchange 2013

Topic Last Modified: 2014-01-17

If you purchased a FOPE subscription on a Microsoft Volume Licensing agreement, but received an email explaining that you’d need to provision directly to EOP, you were provided with the rights to use the equivalent number of EOP licenses. The following is important information about your EOP licenses:

  • Your Volume License agreement will continue to reflect FOPE until its expiration (after 3 years).

  • FOPE will be replaced by EOP when you sign your next 3 year agreement with Microsoft.

  • Your converted EOP licenses are valid for 36 months from the time you claim them (by following the directions in the email).

  • These converted EOP licenses will appear as “Exchange Online Protection for FOPE Customers (Conversion)” in the Office 365 admin center.

  • The number of converted EOP licenses displayed in the Office 365 admin center will not match the number of FOPE licenses purchased on your agreement (you will see an arbitrary number of 9,999). Consult your Volume License agreement for the actual number of licenses you have purchased rights to use.
