  • Show in RemoteApp and Desktop Connection

  • Automatically save virtual machines

  • Common RDP settings

  • Custom RDP settings

To configure personal virtual desktop properties

  1. On the RD Connection Broker server, open Remote Desktop Connection Manager. To open Remote Desktop Connection Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, point to Remote Desktop Services, and then click Remote Desktop Connection Manager.

  2. In the left pane, expand RD Virtualization Host Servers, click Personal Virtual Desktops, and then on the Action menu, click Properties.

  3. In the Personal Virtual Desktop Properties dialog box, on the General tab, ensure that the Show in RemoteApp and Desktop Connection check box is selected. If the check box is selected, the user sees an icon for a personal virtual desktop in RemoteApp and Desktop Connection, if the user has been assigned a personal virtual desktop.

On the General tab, select the Automatically save virtual machines check box if you want the virtual machines being used for personal virtual desktops to automatically save after a set time if users log off or disconnect. If you select the check box, specify a time (in minutes) in the Wait for box.

  4. In the Personal Virtual Desktop Properties dialog box, on the Common RDP Settings tab, specify the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) settings that are used when clients connect to personal virtual desktops. For more information, see Configure Common RDP Settings for Virtual Desktops.

  5. In the Personal Virtual Desktop Properties dialog box, on the Custom RDP Settings tab, specify any additional RDP settings that are not available on the Common RDP Settings tab. For more information, see Configure Custom RDP Settings for Virtual Desktops.
