Event Analysis Report Knowledge

The Event Analysis report shows a table of events and a count by server filtered by selected parameters.

Description

A management pack contains event collection rules that collect specific event information. The list of event details is defined by the rules collecting the events. This report enables you to analyze specific events.

Parameters

Parameter Description

Date/Time Selection

Defines the time period for the report with relative or fixed dates.

Object Picker

Enables the selection of groups or objects for which to show alerts.

When you are using the object picker, selecting Add Group will return the group and all objects it contains. Add Object returns only the selected object.

Source

Specifies the event source. You can either use all event sources (the default option) or specify an individual event source.

Type

Specifies the event type to include in the report. You can either use all event types (the default option) or specify an individual event type.

Category

Specifies the event category to include in the report. You can either use all event categories (the default option) or specify an individual event category.

Event ID

Specifies the specific Event ID to include in the report.

Sample Usage

Use the Event Analysis report to create a report that shows all Category 1 events from the root management server for Monday to Friday of last week.

  1. Open the Event Analysis report.

  2. Select Previous Week > Monday in the From list.

  3. Select Previous Week > Friday in the To list.

  4. Click Add Group.

  5. In the search box, type Root Management, and then click Search.

  6. Select Root Management Server Computer Group, and then click Add.

  7. Click OK.

  8. In the Category list, select 1.

  9. Click Run to view report.
