Remotely managing your backups

Published: August 12, 2009

Applies To: Windows SBS 2008

When you are away from the office, you can use Windows SBS 2008 Remote Web Workplace to access the Windows Home Server console and manage your backups.

Important

Do not use Windows Home Server Remote Access to access the Windows Home Server console. Instead, turn off this capability so that you do not set up the router for Windows Home Server Remote Access or interfere with the router settings for Windows SBS 2008.

To use Remote Web Workplace

  1. Open an Internet browser.

  2. In the address box, type the name of the Windows SBS 2008 domain.

  3. When prompted, enter your administrator user name and password.

  4. Choose a client computer, and then use the Windows Home Server icon to navigate to the Windows Home Server console.
