Overview of installation and migration

Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) can be installed as follows:

  • Clean installation─A clean installation refers to the process of installing Forefront UAG on a computer that complies with Forefront UAG system requirements, and does not have Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007 or Forefront UAG currently installed.

  • Migration─Migration consists of exporting current Forefront UAG settings, upgrading the operating system, installing Forefront UAG, and then importing the configuration settings. You can perform migrate settings on the same computer, or on a different computer. The computer on which you install Forefront UAG must conform to Forefront UAG system requirements.
