Exchange 2010 does not support the Exchange 2007 Best Practices Analyzer

[This topic is intended to address a specific issue called out by the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool. You should apply it only to systems that have had the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool run against them and are experiencing that specific issue. The Exchange Server Analyzer Tool, available as a free download, remotely collects configuration data from each server in the topology and automatically analyzes the data. The resulting report details important configuration issues, potential problems, and nondefault product settings. The Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 version of the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer analyzes the server on which it is runs to determine whether the server is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.

If the tool detects that it is running on an Exchange 2010-based server, the tool generates an error message.

Exchange 2010 does not support earlier versions of the Best Practices Analyzer. You must use the Exchange 2010 version of Exchange Best Practices Analyzer to scan Exchange 2010-based servers.

To address this issue, run the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer from Exchange 2010. The Exchange Best Practices Analyzer is located in the Toolbox node in the Exchange Management Console.
