The BlockedClientVersions parameter is set on an Exchange 2010 Client Access server

The Microsoft Exchange Best Practices Analyzer examines the protocols that are enabled on Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Client Access servers. During this examination, the Best Practices Analyzer determines whether the BlockedClientVersions parameter has been set on any Client Access servers in the organization. If the BlockedClientVersions parameter has been set, the following message is generated:

BlockedClientVersions is set on <ServerName>. The current value is <StringValue>.

The BlockedClientVersions parameter is used together with the Set-RpcClientAccess cmdlet to manage the Exchange RPC Client Access service on an Exchange 2010 Client Access server. This parameter specifies which versions of Microsoft Outlook are restricted from connecting to Exchange. The Exchange RPC Client Access service rejects connections from versions of Outlook that are specified in the parameter.

By default, the BlockedClientVersions parameter is not set on Exchange 2010 Client Access servers. This message does not indicate that a problem exists with the Exchange configuration. Instead, this message is intended to inform an administrator that certain versions of Outlook have been blocked from connecting to Exchange. This information may be used to help troubleshoot any Exchange connectivity issues that exist.
