PsExec is a Telnet alternative that enables you to perform non-invasive troubleshooting on a remote Microsoft Surface unit. You can use PsExec to do the following:
Start interactive command-prompt windows on remote Microsoft Surface units.
Use Microsoft MS-DOS tools, such as IpConfig, to show information about a remote Microsoft Surface unit.
To learn more about PsExec and to download it, see PsExec on the Microsoft TechNet Web site.
To start PsExec from a remote Microsoft Surface unit
Use Remote Desktop Connection to log on to a remote Microsoft Surface unit in administrator mode.
Open a Command Prompt window.
Run psexec \\MachineName --i cmd.exe, where MachineName is the computer name of the Microsoft Surface unit.
Note -i runs the command as a console session, and cmd.exe opens PsExec in a new Command Prompt window.
