Connection Managers designed for Windows Vista and Windows XP may not work with mobile broadband devices using drivers that display the Designed for Windows logo

Symptoms

Connection managers designed for Windows Vista® and Windows®°XP may not work in Windows 7 with mobile broadband devices despite having a driver that displays the Designed for Windows logo.

Cause

A connection manager developed for Windows Vista or Windows°XP is being used in Windows 7.

Resolution

Use the Windows 7 built-in connection manager instead of a 3rd-party solution. The Windows 7 connection manager can be launched by clicking on the network icon in the notification area.
Check with your hardware vendor for an updated Connection Manager designed with Windows 7 logo drivers.
