Network Diagnostics Framework (NDF) in Windows 7

The Network Diagnostics Framework (NDF) reduces the involvement of network administrators and computer users by correcting common network issues when they occur. By using NDF's diagnostic and repair capabilities, users do not need to involve support professionals or understand and use additional tools to resolve many relatively common problems. NDF is included on computers running Windows Server® 2008 R2, Windows® 7, Windows Server® 2008, and Windows Vista®.
NDF in Windows 7
There are multiple ways to launch a diagnostic session. Some programs, such as Internet Explorer, and some Windows features, such as Shared Folders, provide the option to launch diagnostics when the user is experiencing connectivity problems related to that program or feature. Additionally, Windows 7 provides predefined Network and Internet troubleshooters, which a user can launch independent of a specific program or feature that is experiencing connectivity problems.
Note
NDF and Network Tracing functionality is not supported for computers that are operating in safe mode.
