When do I create a new Boot Client CD?

Applies To: System Center Data Protection Manager 2007

The user must re-create a new Boot Client CD whenever a new recovery set is created or an existing one is edited.

The following example scenario shows how the user re-creates a new Boot Client CD:

  1. Creates a new RSD named "All Critical Volumes" at t1.

  2. Creates a boot client CD, BC1.

  3. Creates a recovery point, RP1.

  4. Makes the changes to "All Critical Volumes" at t2.

  5. Creates a boot client CD, BC2.

  6. Creates a recovery point, RP2.

If the user now wants to restore RP1, he must use BC1, and for RP2, he must use BC2.
