Dependent Features Dialog Box

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, Windows XP

Use the Dependent Features dialog box to approve the installation of Web Deploy version 1.1 components on a client computer so that you can use the local IIS Manager to manage Web Deploy on a remote server.

This dialog box appears only under the following conditions: 1) you are using IIS 7 or later; 2) you have used IIS Manager on a client computer to connect to a remote Web server that has version 1.1 of Web Deploy with the Web Deploy UI component installed; 3) no version of Web Deploy is installed on the client computer; and 4) the New Feature Available Dialog Box has appeared and you have selected the Web Deployment UI feature and clicked OK.

In the Dependent Features dialog box, click OK to install the Web Deployment Tool UI features on the client computer, or click Cancel to cancel the operation. If you click OK, the .dll files for the following features will be installed: the Web Deployment Framework, Web Deployment Delegation, Web Deployment 64–Bit Native Support, and Web Deployment 32–Bit Native Support.

In the subsequent IIS Manager – Security Warning dialog boxes that appear, click Run to install the Web Deploy UI features for IIS Manager on the client computer. If you choose not to install the UI features, Web Deploy tasks will not be displayed in the client IIS Manager for the remote connection.

Important

If the language of the computer on which you are running IIS Manager differs from the language of the remote IIS 7.0 server, and you are using Windows Server® 2008 or Windows Vista® with Service Pack 1 (SP1), the user interface may be displayed in the language of the local computer instead of the language of the remote IIS 7.0 server. To resolve this issue, see FIX: IIS Manager does not display the user interface in the language of the remote server when you connect to a remote Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 server. This issue does not affect Windows Server® 2008 R2.
