The Microsoft Exchange Database Instance resource is not dependent on any physical disk resource

[This topic is intended to address a specific issue called out by the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool. You should apply it only to systems that have had the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool run against them and are experiencing that specific issue. The Exchange Server Analyzer Tool, available as a free download, remotely collects configuration data from each server in the topology and automatically analyzes the data. The resulting report details important configuration issues, potential problems, and nondefault product settings. By following these recommendations, you can achieve better performance, scalability, reliability, and uptime. The Microsoft Exchange Analyzer Tool determines whether the Microsoft Exchange Database Instance resource is dependent on any physical disk resource. If the Exchange Database Instance resource is not dependent on any physical disk resource, Exchange Analyzer generates the following error message:

Microsoft Exchange Database Instance resource dependency problem

The Microsoft Exchange Database Instance resource Resource_Name in cluster group Cluster_Group_Name, running on node Cluster_Node, is not dependent on any physical disk resource. It is recommended that you configure the appropriate physical disk resource dependencies for Microsoft Exchange Database Instance resources.

By default, when you install a Single Copy Cluster, the storage group resource is not dependent on any disk resource. You must set up this dependency so that the storage group will not mount if the disk resource is not available.

For more information about how to set up the dependent disk resource, see the topic "Modify resource dependencies" (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=181478).
