There's an error in your Outlook Web App configuration. The configuration for a virtual directory couldn't be found.

Explanation

This Error event will occur if Microsoft Office Outlook Web App was unable to find its configuration in Active Directory. This could occur because of an error reading from Active Directory or because the object does not exist in Active Directory.

User Action

To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:

  • If the virtual directory was created recently, wait for Active Directory replication to finish, and see whether the error goes away.

  • If you do not know whether the virtual directory was created, use the Get-OwaVirtualDirectory cmdlet to verify that it exists. Use the DomainController parameter to specify a domain controller in the same site as the server.

  • If the virtual directory appears not to exist, use a tool such as ADSI Edit to find the object. If it is not in Active Directory, use the New-OwaVirtualDirectory cmdlet to create it. You may first have to remove the Outlook Web App virtual directory from Internet Information Services (IIS).

  • Contact a Microsoft Support professional to resolve this issue. To contact a Microsoft Support professional, visit the Exchange Server Solutions Center. In the navigation pane, click Assisted Support Options and use one of the assisted support options to contact a Microsoft Support professional. Because your organization may have a specific procedure for directly contacting Microsoft Product Support Services, be sure to review your organization's guidelines first.
