The SmtpReceive process failed to start listening on a configured binding because IPv6 is not enabled. |
Explanation
This Error event indicates that the following conditions are true:
An IPv6 address is configured on the local network interface.
A Receive connector is configured to listen for inbound messages by using the IPv6 address interface.
The IP address and port number that are used by a Receive connector to listen for inbound messages can be specified by using either of the following methods:
The Bindings parameter on the New-ReceiveConnector cmdlet or on the Set-ReceiveConnector cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell
The Use these local IP Addresses to receive mail option on the Network tab of the Receive connector properties page in the Exchange Management Console
User Action
To resolve this error, configure an IPv4 address on a local network interface, and then configure the Receive connector to listen for inbound messages by using the IPv4 address.
The IP address can be a true IPv4 address, such as 10.1.1.25, or an IPv4 address that is specified in IPv6 syntax, such as 0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0A01:0119.
