To verify that documents are fed to FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint:

  1. Open a Microsoft FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint shell on the FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint administration server.

  2. Run the command:

    Get-FASTSearchContentCollection –Name “<NameOfContentCollection>”

Where “<NameOfContentCollection>” is the name of the content collection you want to feed to. The default content collection is named “sp”.

  3. Verify that the content collection contains some documents.

If the content collection does not contain any documents:
    1. Inspect the Windows Event Log on the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 machine that hosts the FAST Search Content Search Service Application if there are any issues accessing FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint.

    2. Inspect and if necessary correct the FAST Search Content SSA content distributor address.

    3. Verify that SSL communication has been enabled to secure the connection between the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 that hosts the FAST Search Content SSA and FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint.
