SQL Server Settings
Applies To: System Center Data Protection Manager 2010
The SQL Settings page of the Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) Setup Wizard appears only if you chose to use an existing instance of SQL Server 2008. Use this page to specify the name of the existing instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 that you want to use and the appropriate administrator credentials.

Instance of SQL Server |
Type the name of the existing instance of SQL Server 2008 that you want to use. Note If SQL Server Reporting Services is installed on the remote SQL Server, DPM Setup will use that Reporting Service. If SQL Server Reporting Services is not installed on the remote instance of SQL Server 2008, you must install and configure the service. |
User Name |
Type the name of the user responsible for administering the existing instance of SQL Server 2008 that DPM will use. |
Password |
Type the password of the user responsible for administering the existing instance of SQL Server 2008. |
Domain |
Type the domain name of the user administering the instance of SQL Server. |
After entering the SQL Server 2008 settings information, click OK.
