Step 7 - Create an All Staff Rights Protected Word Document

This section explains how to create a rights protected Word document that is only accessible by members of the All Staff group.

Log on to the CLT.fabrikam.com as Administrator.

Click Start, select All Programs, click Microsoft Office, and select Microsoft Office Word 2007. This will bring up Word 2007 with a blank document.

On the blank document type the words This is an All Staff test.

At the top, click the Office button, select Prepare from the drop-down, select Restrict Permission, and select Restrict Access. This will bring up the Permission window.

On the Permission window, place a check in Restrict permission to this document. Next, click Read. This will bring up a Select Names window. Choose All Staff and click OK. This will close the Select Names window.

On the Permission window, click OK.

At the top, click the Office button and select Save As from the drop-down.

At the top, remove Libraries -> Documents from the location and enter \\ADRMS.fabrikam.com\FabrikamDocuments.

Under File Name:, enter AllStaffTest.

Click Save.

Close Word.
