Installing Service Pack 1 Components

This document describes how to install the components of Opalis Integration Server 6.2.2 Service Pack 1.

Opalis Integration Server 6.2.2 Service Pack 1 is a cumulative update that contains important software updates and new features. The components of the service pack are extracted to the location that you specify by running OpalisServicePack1.exe.

Each component is designed to be installed separately. Follow the instructions for the components that you want to install.

File Management Objects

The File Management Objects component contains important software updates for all installations of Opalis Integration Server 6.2.2.

Component file location: File Management Objects\OpalisIntegrationServer_FoundationObjects.msi.

To run the Foundation Objects installer

  1. Open the Management Server installation folder, by default located in %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Opalis Software\Opalis Integration Server\Management Service. Browse to the Components\Objects folder.

  2. Replace the existing OpalisIntegrationServer_FoundationObjects.msi file with the OpalisIntegrationServer_FoundationObjects.msi file provided in this service pack.

  3. Perform the following steps to deploy the new Foundation Objects on all Action Servers and Clients:

    1. Verify that no policies are running, and that no clients or Testing Consoles are open on the computer that you are updating.

    2. In Add or Remove Programs, uninstall Opalis Integration Server - Foundation Objects.

    3. Run the OpalisIntegrationServer_FoundationObjects.msi installer. Do not change any of the default values on the installation screens.

Operator Console

The Operator Console component contains an important software update for all installations of Opalis Integration Server 6.2.2.

Component file location: Operator Console\OpalisOperatorConsoleSP1.zip

To apply the Operator Console software update

  1. Stop the Operator Console.

  2. Copy the OpalisOperatorConsoleSP1.zip file to the computer on which the Operator Console server is installed.

  3. Right-click OpalisOperatorConsoleSP1.zip, and then click Extract All.

  4. Specify or Browse to the location where the Operator Console server was installed during the initial Operator Console server installation. By default, files are extracted to the C:\OpalisSP1\Operator Console\OpalisOperatorConsoleSP1 folder.

  5. Click Extract.

  6. On the Confirm Folder Replace page, click Yes for all folders.

  7. On the Copy File page, click Copy and Replace for all files. Confirm that the existing files were successfully replaced with the updated files.

  8. Start the Operator Console.

IP for UNIX

The Opalis Integration Pack for UNIX is an add-on for Opalis Integration Server that enables you to build policies that manage UNIX operations. It can launch automated actions on UNIX computers in your Opalis infrastructure, seamlessly integrating your Windows and UNIX systems. Install this optional component if you want to use the UNIX Integration Pack features.

Component files are located in the IP for UNIX folder.

To prepare to install the Opalis UNIX Agent

  1. Confirm that the following Security Requirements have been met:

    1. The account that you use to run the Opalis UNIX Agent has the appropriate rights assigned to it for the UNIX computer where it will perform its tasks.

    2. The UNIX computers on which you will install the Opalis UNIX Agent have a port opened to allow connections with the Opalis Client or Action Server computer where the Integration Pack for UNIX will be installed.

    3. UNIX computers that communicate with objects using SSH are configured to accept SSH connections on the port specified in the object’s Properties dialog.

  2. Security-Enhanced Linux is disabled.

  3. If you generate keys and passphrases for key authentication, the keys that you generate must comply with the OpenSSH RFC4256 standard.

To install the Opalis UNIX Agent

  1. Copy the applicable Opalis Agent file for your UNIX operating system to a directory on the computer(s) where the Opalis UNIX Agent will be run.

  2. Extract the contents of the file.

  3. Open the extracted directory.

  4. Add Execute permissions to the agent.sh file (one of the extracted files).

  5. Repeat this procedure to install the Opalis UNIX Agent on each UNIX computer for which you want to use the Run Program, Get File Status, Monitor File, or Monitor Folder objects. All other objects will interact with the UNIX computer(s) using SSH.

To use the Opalis UNIX Agent

  • To start the Opalis UNIX Agent, type ./agent.sh. This starts the Opalis Remote Agent on the default port 8080.

  • To change the port, type ./agent.sh -P [NNNN], where [NNNN] is the port number.

  • To run the Opalis UNIX Agent interactively, rather than as a daemon, type ./agent.sh -D.

  • To stop the Opalis UNIX Agent when it is running interactively, press CTRL + C.

  • To stop the Opalis UNIX Agent when it is running as a daemon, stop the daemon’s process.

  • To display usage information, including the version number, type ./agent.sh -h.

To install the Integration Pack for UNIX

  • For information about registration and deployment of this integration pack, see the “Deploying Integration Packs and Hotfixes” section in the “Opalis Integration Server Administrator Guide.” For information about using this integration pack, see the Integration Pack for UNIX Help.

IP for HP OVO (Windows)

The IP for HP OpenView Operations (OVO) for Windows component contains important software updates for the HP OVO (Windows) Integration Pack. Install this component if you are currently using an HP OpenView Operations Integration Pack for Windows.

Component file location: IP for HP OVO Windows\Opalis_IP_HPOVOWWebService8_500SP1.exe

To install the Web Services for HP OpenView Operations

  1. If you have a previous version of Opalis Web Services for HP OVO for Windows installed, unpublish all policies running all objects that belong to HP OVO Windows, and uninstall the previous version of Opalis Web Services for HP OVO for Windows.

  2. Copy the Opalis_IP_HPOVOWWebService8_500SP1.exe file to the HP OpenView Operations server.

  3. Double-click the Opalis_IP_HPOVOWWebService8_500SP1.exe file, and then click Next.

  4. Click Accept to accept the License Terms, and then click Next.

  5. Browse to the folder where you want to install the Opalis Web Services for OpenView Operations, and then click Next.

  6. Type the installation location of the HP OpenView Operations server, and then click Next.

  7. Type the numbers of the ports that the HP OpenView Operations server will use to communicate with the Opalis Client and Action Server. These ports must be opened on the server that is running the HP OpenView Operations Server. You cannot use the same port more than one time.

  8. Click Install to begin the installation.

  9. When the installation is completed, click Finish.

IP for HP OVO (UNIX)

The IP for HP OVO (UNIX) component contains important software updates for the HP Open View Operations (OVO) UNIX Integration Pack. Install this component if you are currently using an HP OVO Integration Pack for UNIX.

To install the IP for HP OVO (UNIX) Integration Pack update

  • Refer to the "Installing the Daemon" section in the HP OpenView Operations UNIX Help. If you have an earlier version of the oprprocess daemon on the Solaris server, uninstall it. Then install the new oprprocess daemon as described in the Help.
