MultiPoint Server Remote Desktop Error

Symptom

A review of the Event Viewer log shows the error message "Remote Desktop license server (computer name) has not been activated and therefore will only issue temporary licenses. To issue permanent Remote Desktop Services client access licenses (RDS CALs), the Remote Desktop license server must be activated."

Cause

The local Remote Desktop license server has not yet been activated. Although you might have already input the CALS that are required to obtain the temporary licenses required run MultiPoint Server, permanent licenses must be issued by the local Remote Desktop license server.

Resolution

This message is an expected response from the Remote Desktop license server and is for information purposes only. After you activate the local Remote Desktop license server, the message will no longer appear in the Event Viewer log.
