Edit Archive Settings for a User

Applies to: Forefront Online Protection for Exchange

Topic Last Modified: 2012-04-30

This topic describes Exchange Hosted Archive (EHA) user tasks and points you to more specific procedural information in the EHA User Guide.

You can enable or disable the EHA service for a user, edit the message retention period, or enable or disable legal hold for a user.

If message retention period and legal hold settings are not specified for the user, the default settings configured for your company or for the user’s domain will be applied to the user. To learn how to edit user archive settings, see Configuring Archive Settings at the User Level.

You can assign archive roles for a user account. The archive roles define the user’s archive permissions. To learn how to assign archive roles to user accounts, see Assigning Archive Roles and Permissions to Users.

In the Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (FOPE) Administration Center, you can manage supervisory relationships for the EHA service. To learn how to manage supervisory relationships, see Configuring Supervisory Relationships and Sampling.
