The Microsoft Exchange Best Practices Analyzer Tool queries the computer to determine whether the Unified Communications Managed API 2.0, Core Runtime files are installed. To do this, the Analyzer tool queries the computer registry for the following registry subkey:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Real-Time Communications\{902F4F35-D5DC-4363-8671-D5EF0D26C21D}\

Based on the results of this query, use the following guidelines to determine what to install:

  • If the registry subkey for which the tool queried does not exist, you must install the following file:

Unified Communications Managed API 2.0, Core Runtime (64-bit)

To install this download file, follow these steps:

    1. Click Download, and then save the UcmaRuntimeWebDownloadX64.msi program file to your hard disk.

    2. Double-click the UcmaRuntimeWebDownloadX64.msi program file on your hard disk to extract the installer files to a configurable location. By default, this location is the following folder:

      C:\Microsoft UCMA 2.0 Runtime Installer Package\amd64

    3. Locate the extracted files, and then double-click the SetupUcmaRuntime.exe file.

    4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

  • If the registry subkey for which the tool queried exists, the Unified Communications Managed API 2.0, Core Runtime (64-bit) components are already installed on this computer. The Analyzer tool then determines the version of the installed components.

  • If the installed version of the components is 3.5.6907.170 or a later version, no more steps are required.

  • If the installed version of the components is 3.5.6907.170 or an earlier version, you must install the following hotfix:

Unified Communications Managed API 2.0 Redist (64 Bit) Hotfix KB 2501720
