Outlook Web App couldn't initialize.%n%nInvalid forms registry file %1 Line number = %2 Position = %3. You can't define a base experience when you choose to inherit from another forms registry. The base experience of the other forms registry is always used.%n%nThe forms registry is a critical component of Outlook Web App. If this error isn't addressed, users might not be able to access Outlook Web App. The Help and Support Center provides information about troubleshooting the forms registry.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that a forms registry inherits from another forms registry and also defines a base experience. When a forms registry inherits from another one, it inherits the base experience of the forms registry from which it inherits and cannot define a base experience of its own. For example, if Registry A inherits from Registry B, it inherits the base experience from Registry B and cannot have its own base experience.

User Action

To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:

  • If you want to use the inherited base experience, open the forms registry that is set to inherit and remove its base experience.

  • If you want to keep the base experience, open the specified forms registry and remove the inheritance.

  • Contact a Microsoft Support professional to resolve this issue. To contact a Microsoft Support professional, visit the Exchange Server Solutions Center. In the navigation pane, click Assisted Support Options and use one of the assisted support options to contact a Microsoft Support professional. Because your organization may have a specific procedure for directly contacting Microsoft Product Support Services, be sure to review your organization's guidelines first.
